So why is it that this page contains 2.x information whereas the rest of the wiki, quite annoyingly, appears to have been purged of 2.x information.

There will be quite a number of people using 2.x for quite a while and the 2.x information would also be helpful for people working on upgrading to 3.x, especially those of us with custom plugins.

IMO this page should contain 3.x information with a link to the 2.x information (and other pages containing 3.x information should include links to the 2.x info where relevant).x

I agree.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I've switched the pages around so that the table of contents links to the v3.x page (which contains a link to the v2.x page).
